Corporate Event Jazz Band

It doesn’t seem like a very imaginative title but one thing I’ve learned about being found on the Internet is to say what you do and where you do it as often as possible. Now I don’t state this openly on say, Social Media to help my competition but if my competition gets this far into my website then they get some free information to help them.

Anyways this was for Intact Insurance it was on the 15th floor of a building at the corner of Portage and Main There was a surprisingly good amount of parking! When I see downtown gigs, especially that close to that major intersection here in Winnipeg, I get a little worried but I was able to get a close by spot pay the parking fee and have free parking. After that I was able to get down and put my gear away and get back home no trouble. The weather for that time of year pretty OK. I took the drummer from the previous post at the Silver Heights Rob Siwik and then one of my teachers from my school, River Heights School of Music on bass and myself on guitar.

Private Events Can Be Special

It was one of those private events that were pretty special because, as you can see from the picture we’re kind of set up in a reception area but that’s not where the majority of the people were. The majority of the people were, not surprisingly, near the food and drinks in another room. So, while that room was really noisy full of people rubbing elbows and glad handing, anybody who wanted to get away from it would come and enjoy the music and anybody who came through the door would have the music to greet them. We could actually hear ourselves play and it was a real fun gig. I actually called a ballad I never called ballads on these gigs because you know those spaces between the notes can get filled in quite quite vociferously by the by the talking.
