Playing Percussion in a Church Setting

So this past Sunday I was able to play percussion at my church St Benedicts Table. It is housed inside the All Saints Church at the corner of West Broadway and colony. The instruments I played were Cajon with a bass drum pedal attached to it, djembe as well as brushes on a top of a the drum itself as well. The main focus was on playing the Bodhran as the leader on this particular Sunday evening wanna do some Celtic sounding tunes!

It was also Larry Campbell’s last time playing. He has been playing at St Benedict’s table in some capacity since the very first day. I have hired Larry to do a few jazz gigs with me as well and have very fond memories! He has some of the best meter of anybody I’ve ever played with.

there has a very long career including playing with the Double Eagle Band and Unlikely Icons which would have had Gord Johnson and Steve Bell in it.
