Wow our time in Inverness just flew by. As we talk about coming to this wonderful land again we talk about staying here and Oban longer.
Having said this we are only 3 nights here in Edinburgh and I already feel it will be too short.
First class or Kiss my Ass
Sounds awful I know but for a few pound more you can ride the rails 1st class. The biggest differnces are not soccer hooligans and 2 free food. The big difference between Scotrail and LNER is the lack of booze available in the morning. But a full breakfast with tea or coffee, a refill later with cookies and as much orange juice or water as you need!
So, WiFi, electrical plug ins and a meal as you wind through the the Scottish countryside.
The New Digs
So we move into our new ground floor flat. Clearly an older building but lots of character.
Walking around our Edinburgh Neighbourhood
Today’s plan; get a few things for the house, late lunch/early dinner and check some things out.
After we walked back to the flat to collect cameras and rain jackets. Can’t help but admire the old world architecture.
Arthur’s Seat – Holyrood Hill
Well what’s better after a big mean than a big walk. As late 50’s prairie folk we walk very little in the way of inclines. Arthur’s Seat behind Holyrood Palace is up hill all the way with rock and scree and 250 feet above sea level.
Despite the light rain we elected for more walking along the Royal Mile.
Picked up some souvenirs and of course whiskey.
Tomorrow is Edinburgh Castle, lunch and a Harry Potter walking tour.
